7 Days rwanda adventure safari

This tour has been designed to bring you all the highlights of this beautiful country often called the land of a thousand hills  with a rich history. Besides gorilla tracking activity,other interesting activities to carry out include Chimpanzee trekking, wildlife viewing, Golden Monkey tracking, cultural experiences, canopy walks.

Day 1: Kigali – Akagera National Park 

After an early morning breakfast from you hotel of resident, you will go for a guided city tour and visit some interesting historical sites, including the Kigali Memorial Centre, Ntarama church, local markets.In the afternoon,Have lunch and embark on a drive towards east to Akagera National Park . There are beautiful sceneries you shall be exposed to along the way. After Lunch,You will go for an exciting afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema. This will reward you with views of  animals like Hippos,  crocodiles,buffaloes,Kobs among others on the shores and water birds like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle.Dinner and overnight

Day 2: Game drive – Boat Ride
After an early morning breakfast, embak on a game drive to catch up with early raisers and predators before returning to their hideouts. The game drive will reward you with chances to see a variety of animals like elephants, buffaloes, lions, Masaai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, bush baby, leopard and bush buck among others. Return to the Lodge and relax. After lunch,You will go for an exciting Boat ride on Lake Ihema.This will reward you with views of animals like Hippos, hug nile crocodiles and a rich bird life of about 500 bird species like the papyrus Gonolek, shoebill stork and African fish eagle.. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Akagera National Park – Nyungwe Forest National Park
After your morning breakfast, embark the safari vehicle and transfer to Nyungwe forest passing through scenic terraced hills to the  home to the endangered chimpanzees and other primates like Red tailed monkey, White and black Colobus, Vervet monkeys .Have lunch en route in Kibuye, and later proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park.Dinner and overnight

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk  
After breakfast, You will go for the Chimpanzee trekking into the rain tropical forest.It should be noted that it is not guaranteed to see the chimps as they are unpredictable and can move long distances in one day.There are several other primates in Nyungwe such as the Rwenzori colobus, Hoest Monkey, silver monkey, owl faced monkey, red tailed monkey, vervet monkey and olive baboon and so many others .Return  back to the lodge for lunch, relax and then spend the evening taking the Canopy walk viewing more primates, birds, insects and canopies at the closer view in the jungle. Dinner and overnight

Day 5: Nyungwe Forest National Park – Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you embark the safari vehicle and drive to Volcanoes with en-route stopover for lunch, reaching Volcanoes National Park in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Rwanda Gorilla Trekking – Iby’wacu Cultural Village
After an early morninig breakfast, transfer to the park head quarters for briefing about the Dos and Don’ts while trekking the the mountain gorillas. Thereafter transfer to the point of gorilla trek and enter into the forest jungle to search for the endangered mountain gorillas. Trekking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, strenuous and tiring, sometimes taking from 1 to 8 hours in the forest. But coming in contact with the great primates is well worth the effort. which is a truly amazing experience.After coming across the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their company while taking their photos, observing their behaviour and feeding patterns which is a truly amazing experience and then go back to the park office for your gorilla tracking certificate. If time permits you will go for an evening visit to the Iby’wacu cultural village experiencing the Rwanda culture from once the gorilla hunters and now Eco  warriors. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking-Departure
After an early breakfast you will go for Golden monkey trekking. You’ll trek through sun-dappled glades and dense stands of bamboo in search of these playful monkeys, who are well accustomed to visitors. This means you’ll be able to view the golden monkeys playing, feeding, and leaping from tree to tree as if you weren’t there. While your time with the monkeys is limited to an hour, this is ample time to see the inquisitive creatures in their natural habitat.After Lunch, embark the safari vehicle to transfer back to your hotel in Kigali or to the airport for your return flight back home.
